I approach my client with compassion, an open-mind, curiosity, and playfulness. I speak and connect from the heart and mind with many years of clinical training and experience. I understand that when I see a child, adolescent, or family in my practice that there are multiple ways of knowing and perspectives for understanding. I adopt an approach which takes into account the impacts of intergenerational trauma and epigenetics. In the therapeutic space I hold myself accountable for the client's seven generations past and the seven generations to come. For more on this idea please feel free to read my article called, Seven Generations - Hope and Healing, in the magazine called Playground:

I was recently quoted in an article on how Indigenous parents might speak to their children about residential schools and the 215 children who were found in an unmarked grave:

Furthermore, I continue to keep myself abreast of new research and ideas through participating in trainings, workshops, and conferences and reading research articles and books. I belong to a peer supervision group as well as participate in individual supervision. I am also a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the Ontario Association of Social Workers, the Canadian Association for Play Therapy, EMDR Canada, and EMDRIA (EMDR International Association).
